Is the Pheonix/Inferno build any better/faster? I might try it anyway.
As for weapons I use:
Elemental sword of enchanting with "I have the power!" inscription.
And
Lian's Lantern (Fortitude and +1 fire 20%).
I just use Lian's because it was the first one to hand but the fortitude comes in handy if I get into trouble with Charged Blacknesses, also its great to see the extra few points of damage on my spells when the +1 kicks in ^^.

How about Viper's Defense + Radiation Field + Sliver Armor as the main damage dealers?

You can also almost completely clear the spawning pools with this build. Please note that you have to run all the way to the GRENTH STATUE before you can start killing groups or else the blackness will kill you. The safe area behind the grenth statue is in #4 and also in the Safe spots image #1. This build is more for the challenge and not for the ectos. I've only gotten 2 ectos from clearing this after clearing the chaos plains. Basically just keep casting flame djinns and run like hell :P the blackness wont get to you because of the tar so you have time to recast SF and flame djinns.
*All Blackness Spawns are marked in Yellow.
*Pink is the running route you can take.
*Marked in Red is the Room where the terrorweb queen spawns. Although you will not be doing the quest it is an important safe spot where you can pull terrorwebs to.
Number 1 is all of the Charged Blackness spawns. It looks pretty crazy but its actually really easy. Though this will only work in NM so far. You will be running through tar and flame djinns is a must. No cupcakes are needed at all...Tar is your best friend and will slow down all of the charged blackness. Though cupcakes will greatly increase your movement speed :P
Number 2+3: This is an image of the 5 Blackness spawns that you will want to aviod when running through the room where the queen spawns. Theres 2 routes you can take once you get out of this room. You can either go through more tar past 2 more Blackness spawns or you can go around the building to the right. Think of picture #2 and #3 of a close up of where the character arrow is on image #1.
Number 4: This is the safe spot you will want to run to. Its best to get to the first ramp make sure not to use flame djinns to early. As once the tar runs out the blackness will stop following you when you use flame djinns without the effect of tar.
Time of my first run after clearing all of the chaos plains and taking pictures.

This is where you will start at the end, yes it is a backwards run but this makes it so the blackness won't kill you :P

This is the second safe spot. This is where the lil building is before heading into the room with the Grenth statue. Marked in red is where you can stand. Marked in yellow is the blackness spawn you must wait for so you can safely walk over to the red safe spot.

Another picture but same as the above^

This is the queen room the last place where the blackness will not patrol in. You can pull quite a few groups into here and kill them without arrgoing the charged blackness.
Those are pictures of the safe areas for people who dont mind loading large images.
Heres a smaller Diagram of the Safe spots they are outlined in Pink:

U could do that, Sliver armor just takes longer (Targets one foe) I got to the same place as Tokolosi except I did a little more killing by grenth a little north. Total time, 1 hour and 20 minutes. It takes longer with sliver armor. But its very easy. I got 2 ecto's 1 white die, 3 golds and !@#$ING 43 COLLECTORS DROPS AHHHH (I never gotten more than 6 ectos when I do it, but I have always gotten more than 30 collector drops) Cursed By Fate FTW!!

I have started to take Dark Escape rather than Dash. It lasts longer and can get past traps most of the time, even if you do trigger the traps you still might survive due to the 50% damage reduction, unlike with Dash with which you are screwed. The only downside to Dark Escape is the recharge which is pretty long. Some people use Flames Djinns Haste as their run skill, this offers you least trap protection and I don't feel I need the extra damage.

I can avoid the traps with [flame djinn's haste], you just need to time it right (right after a barbed trap goes off seems to be the safest, although I have died sometimes).
It's possible to run Droks with the permaSF skill combo and some run skills, but you have to be careful about the knockdowns. The wurms in Lornar's weren't that big a problem, since they were easy to outrun. The Tundras were pretty easy to avoid as well, since they chained [Giant Stomp]. It kept me on the ground for a few seconds, but as long as I had SF at full before aggroing them, I could run out of range.
But then I hit the Nightmare pops. [signet of judgment] sucks. They only killed me once, but I wouldn't have made it if it wasn't for the guy who was along for the ride. As we rezzed, they focused on him, which gave me time to run away and recast my stuff. Then I ran into Rankor. With an anti-KD, you could do this easily.

[build prof=E/A earth=11+3+1 shadow=12 energy=6+1 dagger=2][Glyph of Swiftness][Deadly Paradox][Shadow Form][Light of Deldrimor][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Radiation Field][Crystal Wave][Sliver Armor][/build]
I've been running this, while my Golden Eggs hold out anyway, and it seems to work well, although the energy is a bit tight at times. A zealous weapon helps quite a bit -- just don't use melee weapons on the Aatxes. I have no idea if an Assassin primary would have a high enough energy ceiling to use this, however; I'm running 60-ish energy. Also, I've got rank 10 in Asuran and 7 in Deldrimor, although you could probably go a bit lower and be fine.
There's nothing in the build that will cause scattering in normal mode, which is fairly necessary with Sliver Armor. Also, Sliver Armor always seems to take out the Aatxes first when they are grouped with other creatures; so things work better if you can avoid killing the Grasping Darknesses/Dying Nightmares/etc. right away.
Aatxe battles take about two minutes a piece while Mindblades take a bit less than a minute. All in all, I believe the run times are more or less comparable to the other options out there.
Incidentally, one nice thing about going E/A is that the Terrorweb Dryders never use Lava Font on you, making them easy targets.
Finally, since Sliver Armor works at nearby range and Radiation Field and Light of Deldrimor work on everything in the area, you can often, if you're careful, kill an Obsidian Behemoth when the path is blocked. The trick is to get close enough for your spells, especially Sliver Armor, to hit them, but yet stay far enough away so that you don't trigger the traps. Then, just attack with a ranged weapon so as to disrupt as many Healing Springs as possible.

My sin has 61 energy with a +20 staff. If you're using candy such as cupcakes (no need for eggs if you're a sin primary) that give you more energy, it should work.
